Blair Underwood is an American actor whose Hollywood journey started in the 1980s. He debuted in the 1985 film Krush Groove. At the same time, he had his first TV appearance in Knight Rider. His first notable role was as Bobby Blue in the soap opera One Life to Live. He next starred in the short-lived series Terry Corsaro before finding fame as Jonathan Rollins in the NBC series L.A. Law. He starred on the show from 1987-1994. Afterward, he had roles in the films Gattaca and Deep Impact, as well as starred as Officer Michael Rhoades in the TV series High Incident.
In the 2000s, he played Dr. Ben Turner in the CBS show City of Angels. During that period, he also starred in the film Rules of Engagement. He later had roles in the films Full Frontal, Malibu’s Most Wanted, Straight Out of Compton 2, and Madea’s Family Reunion. Back on TV, he played Dr. Robert Leeds in Sex and the City, Dr. Arthur Bindlebeep in Fatherhood, Roger De Souza in LAX, Mr. Harris in The New Adventures of Old Christine, Simon Elder in Dirty Sexy Money, and Alex in In Treatment. In the 2010s, he starred as President Elias Martinez in The Event, Andrew Garner in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Owen Hall in Quantico.
