Vanessa Bell Calloway:
Vanessa Bell Calloway is an American actress and dancer. She started acting professionally in the 1980s, debuting in the soap opera All My Children. Her first movie role was in 1987’s Number One with a Bullet. She then gained recognition for her supporting role in the 1988 film Coming to America. In the 1990s, she was critically praised for her performance in the film What’s Love Got to Do with It. She next starred in 1995’s Crimson Tide. She also starred as Colette Hawkins on the TV series Rhythm & Blues. In 1998, she portrayed Johnnie Mae Matthews in the miniseries The Temptations. In the 2000s, she had notable performances in the movies The Brothers, All About You, Dawg, Biker Boyz, Cheaper by the Dozen, and Love Don’t Cost a Thing. Back on TV, she played Gwen Hendrix on The District. Later in the 2010s, she played Gail Strummer on Hawthorne and Carol Fisher on Shameless. She currently stars as Lady Ella Johnson on Saints & Sinners.
