Biography:

Rodrigo Santoro was born on August 22, 1975 in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro. He started his acting career in telenovelas. In 2002, he starred as the lead in the Brazilian movie Behind the Sun, which garnered him significant attention abroad as the feature was a Golden Globe nominee for Best Foreign Film. This then led him to star as Randy Emmers in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, earning him further recognition.

Around the same time, he appeared in the romantic comedy film Love Actually and went on to receive widespread recognition for his role in the smash hit 300, a role he reprised in 300: Rise of an Empire. He has also starred in other Hollywood features, including Che where he portrayed Raul Castro, Post Grad, Hemingway & Gellhorn, What To Expect When You’re Expecting, The Last Stand, and Rio, I Love You. His upcoming movies are Dominion and Ben-Hur.
