Richard Jenkins is an American actor. His career spans decades, starting from the 1970s. He made his debut on the TV show Great Performances in 1974. In the ’80s, he made his film debut in 1985’s Silverado. He next had roles in the films Hannah and Her Sisters, The Witches of Eastwick, and Little Nikita. In the ’90s, he appeared in the movies t Could Happen to You, How to Make an American Quilt, and Flirting with Disaster, to name a few.
He went on to star in the films Changing Lanes, Cheaper by the Dozen, Intolerable Cruelty, The Core, Fun with Dick and Jane, and The Kingdom. In 2008, he starred in the film The Visitor, which got him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. He next starred in the movies Burn After Reading, Step Brothers, Dear John, Eat Pray Love, and Let Me In. More recently, he received acclaim for his work in 2017’s The Shape of Water. On TV, he played Nathaniel Fisher in Six Feet Under, Henry Kitteridge in Olive Kitteridge, and Steven Frost in Berlin Station.
