Peter Gadiot was born on 2 January 1986 in London, England, UK. He trained at the Drama Centre London where he has also performed in numerous stage productions. In 2010, he made his debut in an episode of My Spy Family. That same year, he had his first film role in 13Hrs. His next role came in the 2013 movie The Forbidden Girl. He also appeared in 3 episodes of the British show Fresh Meat.

His first starring role on television was as Cyrus on the ABC series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. This also marked his Hollywood debut. Following this, he appeared as Caesar in 10 episodes of Matador and appeared in three episodes of the miniseries Tut. As of 2016, he stars as James Valdez on the USA Network series Queen of the South. He also plays the recurring role of Mister Mxyzptlk on Supergirl. He will star in the upcoming film Velvet Buzzsaw.
