Mimi Rogers was born on January 27, 1956 in Coral Gables, Florida. She finished high school when she was only 14. During her college years, she became heavily involved in writing and theater. After her first marriage ended in 1980, she went to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. She had her acting training with Milton Katselas. In 1981, she made her television debut on Hill Street Blues.
In 1983, she made her first movie appearance in Blue Skies Again. Her first notable role on the small screen was on The Rousters, followed by Paper Dolls. In the late 1980s, she had roles in the films Street Smart, Someone to Watch Over Me, and The Mighty Quinn. In the ’90s, she starred in the films The Rapture, Dark Horse, Reflections on a Crime, Lost in Space, and Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. She also played Agent Diana Fowley on The X-Files and starred as Hillary on The Geena Davis Show. In the 2010s, she played Robin Schmidt on Two and a Half Men.
