Biography:

Jasika Nicole was born on April 10, 1980 in Birmingham, Alabama, U.S. She trained in musical theatre and eventually relocated to New York City to pursue a career in theatre. In 2005, she made her television debut in an episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. The following year, she had her first movie role in Take the Lead.

She came to prominence after landing the part of Astrid Farnsworth in the television series Fringe. While on the show, she starred in the film She’s Out of My League. After Fringe finished in 2013, she got the role of Kim Muñoz in ABC’s Scandal, for which she played a recurring part until 2016. At the same time, she starred in the show Disengaged as well. Since 2017, she stars as Dr. Carly Lever in The Good Doctor.
