Biography:

Dita Von Teese was born on September 28, 1972 in Rochester, Michigan, United States. She studied historic costuming in college and hoped to work as a stylist for films. She is also a trained costume designer, designing her photo shoots herself.

Her breakthrough came in 2002 when she posed for the cover of Playboy magazine. She then achieved substantial recognition as a tightlacer and appeared in fetish magazine covers such as Bizarre and Marquis.

She also became prominent for her burlesque routines and is usually dubbed by the media as the “Queen of Burlesque”. With this, she is considered to have helped re-popularize burlesque performance.
