Dacre Montgomery was born on 22 November 1994 in Perth, Australia. He started acting on stage since he was nine years old. His professional acting career began in 2010. This was when he acted in the short film called Bertrand the Terrible. He next appeared on the television pilot Family Tree.

His next acting work came some years later. He appeared in the low-budget films Safe Neighborhood and A Few Less Men. Both were released in 2016. He recently got cast for the role of Billy on the second season of the Netflix series Stranger Things. He’s also recently played the lead in the 2017 film reboot of the popular TV series Power Rangers.
