Biography:

Clare Bowen was born on 12 May 1984 in South Coast, New South Wales, Australia. She is a cancer survivor, suffering from the illness when she was between the age of 4-7 years old. She enrolled at the University of Wollongong in New South Wales, Australia. There, she earned a degree in Bachelor of Creative Arts in 2006. Three years later, she began an acting career.

She made her debut on the Australian screen. Her first movie was the drama film The Combination while her TV debut was in an episode of The Cut. Her first recurring role was as Nina Bailey on Home and Away. In 2012, she appeared in the films Dead Man’s Burden and Not Suitable for Children. It was around the same time that she started playing the role of Scarlett O’Connor on the American series Nashville.
