Ayesha Kapur was born on 13 September 1994 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Her mother is a German while her father is an Indian. She started her acting career as a child in the mid 2000s. She made her debut when she got cast for the role of the young Michelle McNally (the adult version is played by Rani Mukerji in the Indian drama movie Black.

The show’s national and international success earned her recognition as well. Her performance in the movie also earned her acclaim. For this she won a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. She didn’t pursue acting after that. She only returned a couple of years later with the 2009 film Sikandar. She will star in the upcoming movie Paani.
