Amy Irving is an American actress. She started acting on stage, performing on Broadway during the 1960s. In 1976, she made her film debut in Brian De Palma’s Carrie. She collaborated with De Palma again in 1978’s The Fury. Later in 1983, she was acclaimed for her performance in the film Yentl. For this, she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. During the 1990s, she had notable roles in the films Deconstructing Harry and The Rage: Carrie 2. In 2000, she starred in Traffic, followed by a role in the independent film Thirteen Conversations About One Thing. She also played Emily Sloane in the TV series Alias. In 2009, she had a supporting role in the movie Adam. She went on to star in the short-lived series Zero Hour. In 2018, she had a supporting role in the film Unsane.
