Alexander Dreymon Workout Routine

Alexander Dreymon

Alexander Dreymon first performed on stage in London and Paris prior to starting a screen career. In 2010, he made his television debut in the French series Ni reprise, ni échangée. After this, he made his cinematic debut in the British film Christopher and His Kind, which was released in 2011.

That same year, he acted in the Welsh movie Resistance. Later in 2013, he played the role of Luke Ramsey in the FX series American Horror Story: Coven, marking his Hollywood debut. After this, he appeared in the independent movie Blood Ransom. It was around this period that he landed the role of Uhtred of Bebbanburg in the historical series The Last Kingdom.

It first aired on BBC America and BBC Two with the third and fourth seasons being aired on Netflix. He went on to star in some independent films, such as The Test of Time, Guys Reading Poems, and Heartlock. He recently starred in the Swedish thriller film Horizon Line.

Playing the lead in The Last Kingdom, Alexander Dreymon undergoes extensive physical training to keep playing his role as a warrior. While he already stays active by his workouts, he knows he needs to do more. “I do at least an hour of Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and then 20-30 minutes of weightlifting,” he said about his workout routine. “On set, I do a lot of horse riding and sword fighting. That keeps you in shape,”.

The actor also does a lot of training for his fighting scenes and stunts. He has an extensive martial arts training but has never done proper sword fighting, so he works on this more. Stretching is also a crucial part of his regimen. “It keeps the muscles healthy and useful, reduces the risk of injuries, and is a great way to wind down,” said Dreymon.
