Biography:

Angelina Jolie was born on June 4, 1975 in Los Angeles, California. Her parents are Oscar-winning actor Jon Voight and her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, had studied with Lee Strasberg.

She began studying at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, where she performed in theatre productions. In 1999, Angelina starred in Girl, Interrupted. Her performance earned her the Golden Globe, the SAG and the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

In 2001, she achieved international fame after her portrayal of the video game heroine Lara Croft in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. She reprised her role in the sequel The Cradle of Life.
