Biography:

Louis Tomlinson was born on December 24, 1991 in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England, UK. Before gaining his breakthrough as a singer, he landed small parts in such shows as Fat Friends, If I Had You and Waterloo Road.

His role as Danny Zuko in the school production of Grease encouraged him to audition for The X Factor in 2010 for its seventh series. While in the show, he was teamed up with four male contestants to become a group that was later named One Direction.

They finished in third place and were immediately signed with Syco Records by Simon Cowell. They went on to release their debut album, Up All Night, in 2011, which gained them further fame.
