Biography:

Kristen Wiig was born on August 22, 1973 in Canandaigua, New York. She attended the University of Arizona as an art student. In Los Angeles, she became a member of the comedy troupe The Goundlings.

In 2005, she became a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live. She stayed in the show until 2012.

In 2011, she co-wrote and starred in the comedy film The Bridesmaids, which earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress, as well as nominations for the Academy Award and BAFTA for Best Original Screenplay.
