Alan Arkin is an American actor. He has since ventured into directing and screenwriting. He first rose to fame in the 1960s, starring in the 1966 film The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming. For his role here, he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. He next starred in 1968’s The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter where he got Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations. Throughout the years, he’s continued his prolific career as an actor. In 2006, he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Little Miss Sunshine. Later in 2012, he played Lester Siegel in the award-winning film Argo. He also recently starred as Norman Newlander in the comedy series The Kominsky Method.
