Russell Crowe was born on April 7, 1964 in Wellington, New Zealand. He came to worldwide fame for his role in Gladiator, for which he won an Oscar for Best Actor.

The following year, he played the role of of mathematician and Nobel Prize winner John F. Nash in A Beautiful Mind, for which he garnered several awards including BAFTA and Golden Globe for Best Actor.

He has earned numerous accolades during the course of his career, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He starred in his other notable films including The Insider, L.A. Confidential and American Gangster, among others.
