Biography:

Richard Madden was born on June 18, 1986 in Elderslie, Renfrewshire, Scotland. He became involved with Paisley Arts Centre’s youth theatre programme at the age of 11 to help him overcome his shyness.

He was then cast as Young Adam in the 2000 feature Complicity and landed the main role in the television series Barmy Aunt Boomerang. He also became known for his role as Dean McKenzie in the TV show Hope Springs.

In 2011, he gained wider fame among international audiences after being cast as Rob Stark in the HBO series Game of Thrones. He has since appeared in such shows as Sirens, Birdsong, and Klondike.
