Biography:

Michiel Huisman was born on July 18, 1981 in Amstelveen, Netherlands. Before becoming a full-time actor, he was with the Dutch band Fontane where he sang and played the guitar. In 2001, he made his film debut in the Dutch feature Costa!. He has since starred in other Dutch movies, including Full Moon Party, Phileine Says Sorry, Floris, and Black Book. In 2009, he made his international debut in the British movie Unmade Beds.

He next appeared as Ernest in the British-American movie The Young Victoria. He then gained recognition on TV after landing the role of Sonny in Treme. He next played the recurring role of Liam McGuinnis in Nashville and Cal Morrison in Orphan Black. Further success on the small screen came after being cast as Daario Naharis in Game of Thrones. Starting out as a recurring character in Season 4, he was promoted as a regular cast for seasons 5-6. His first lead role in a Hollywood movie was in 2015’s The Age of Adaline.
