Biography:

Michelle Monaghan was born on March 23, 1976 in Winthrop, Iowa. She studied journalism for three years at Chicago’s Columbia College. She eventually quit college and moved to New York to work as a model.

In 2000, she made her television debut in Young Americans and appeared in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She made her film debut with a small role in Perfume.

She gained further fame in 2002 when she co-starred in the television series Boston Public. In 2006, she auditioned for Mission: Impossible III, which led to her role as Julia opposite Tom Cruise.
