Biography:

Jared Padalecki was born on July 19, 1982 in San Antonio, Texas, United States. He abandoned his original plan of attending university to pursue an acting career. In 2000, he landed the role of Dean Forester, playing Alexis Bledel’s love interest in Gilmore Girls until 2005. After his role on the show ended, he was cast as Sam Winchester in Supernatural.

The show proved to be popular and has since generated a strong following, helping the series last until now, which is currently in its tenth season. He has also established a career on film, starring in the movies New York Minute, Flight of the Phoenix, House of Wax, Cry Wolf, Christmas Cottage and Friday the 13th. He is married to his Supernatural co-star Genevieve Cortese, who played Ruby during the show’s 4th season.
