Biography:

James Marsden was born on September 18, 1973 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, U.S.. He studied broadcast journalism at the Oklahoma State University. He decided to leave college so he could go to Hollywood and become an actor. He started his career on television in the early 1990s, later landing main roles in such television shows as Boogies Diner and Second Noah. In the early 2000s, he became known for his role as Glenn Foy in Ally McBeal.

It was also around the same time that he gained widespread recognition for playing Cyclops in X-Men, a role he has since reprised in X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand. He’s also best known for his roles in the romantic drama The Notebook, another superhero film Superman Returns, the romantic comedy 27 Dresses, the psychological thriller Straw Dogs, and the historical drama The Butler. He also returned to television as Criss Chros in 30 Rock.
