Delta Goodrem was born on November 9, 1984 in Sydney, Australia. Her entertainment career started at a young age, first appearing on television shows. In her late teens, she rose to fame for her role in the long-running soap opera Neighbours. She had initially pursued a career in the recording industry, getting signed with a major label when she was 15, though she only released her debut album Innocent Eyes in 2003.

The album was an instant hit in Australia, with five songs reaching Number 1 there. Her subsequent albums are Mistaken Identity (2004), Delta (2007), and Child of the Universe (2012).
