Biography:

Brandy Norwood was born on February 11, 1979 in McComb, Mississippi, United States. She began taking performing arts classes as a child and became a backing vocalist for teen groups.

In 1993, she starred as a supporting role in the sitcom Thea and later signed with Atlantic Records. The following year, she released her self-titled debut album, producing the singles “I Wanna Be Down” and “Baby”, which both peaked at the the Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart.

She gained wider recognition for playing the title role in the sitcom Moesha, which led in a number of film projects including I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.
