Biography:

Anastacia was born on September 17, 1968 in Chicago, Illinois, U.S. She began her career as a dancer for hire, making appearances in MTV’s Club MTV from 1985 to 1992. She then began her musical career as a backing vocalist.

In 1992, she gained her big break as a solo singer in the stand-up comedy show ComicView. She went on to release her debut album Not That Kind in 2000. It became an international success particularly in Europe.

It also became popular in Australia with its lead single “I’m Outta Love” becoming the biggest selling song of the year. In 2001, she received the ‘World’s best-selling New Female Pop Artist’ award.
