Alanna Masterson was born on June 27, 1988 in Long Island, New York. Her professional acting career started in 1994 when she appeared as Colleen Carlton in the soap opera The Young and the Restless, playing the part until 1995. In the 2000s, she mostly landed guest spots in numerous television shows such as Definitely Maybe, Malcolm in the Middle and Greek.

In the late 2000s, she has appeared in the shows Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Grey’s Anatomy. Her big break came in 2013 when she was cast as Tara Chambler in the popular series The Walking Dead, starting out as a recurring character in the show’s fourth season and becoming a regular cast in its fifth season.
